The Editor's Message

Happy 2010, everyone, and welcome to our latest edition of the Quill!

Continuing on from our previous issue, more changes have come about for our chapter. The most important one being that we are now officially a non-profit organization, as our president expands on in her message.

This time around, we have received many articles to bring you up to speed on what is going on with our chapter. Several exciting events are coming soon to our chapter, including our employment workshop in February and our Education Days event in April! The STC elections are also around the corner and we have campaign articles from three of the candidates for you to check out.

Special thanks go to Katherine Heyland, who has jumped on board to help out with the editing duties for the Quill. She has done a wonderful job, saving us time and ensuring that the Quill is published error-free and on time.

Over the next few issues, this newsletter is making a transition to the blog so that you will get the latest articles as they are published. If you would like to submit an article but don't know what to write about, visit http://stc-soc.org/quill/ for a list of possible topics. If you already have a story you wish to share, please contact me at quill@stc-soc.org.

Southwestern Ontario Chapter Blog

We started a blog to keep you up-to-date on the rapidly changing situation concerning the Society's financial crisis and our chapter's evolving relationship to Head Office. Now the crisis has been averted, but there are still many newsworthy items that you might want to know about sooner than the newsletter can provide. As a result, after the June issue, we are planning to move the newsletter to the blog, where articles will be published as soon as they are ready. Furthermore, the blog gives you an opportunity to comment and provide feedback. We've recently added an RSS feed, so to check out the blog and maybe even subscribe, see: http://stc-soc.blogspot.com.
